ROYALTIES & PRICING

You have three options to sell your prints on the Printree Gallery …..

• STANDARD (UNLIMITED) PRINTS: Satin gloss fine art, canvas and stretched, mounted & framed at standard price; providing a minimum of 35% of the price of the print to artists.
• ORIGINAL WORKS: We'll pass leads to you and take no fees, leaving you with 100 % of the sale.
• LIMITED EDITIONS: define the limited number on stretched canvas or mounted and framed and at a higher price; providing minimum of 35% royalty to artists.

You can accept our standard prices for the different sizes and substrates as shown below or choose to set your own prices in which case simply tell us by what percentage you would like them increased. Our standard prices are shown below – they exclude VAT, postage and packing:

At these standard prices, you'll get 35.0 per cent royalty on each print sale (excl VAT) as shown below:

For every £1.00 increase above these figures that you decide to set your print prices, you will receive an additional £0.50 royalty on top of the minimum 35.0 per cent royalty.

You will share equally in the profits form the sale of your prints. At standard prices, this equates to a royalty of 35.0 per cent of the retail selling price of the unframed print or unstretched canvas, after VAT and shipping costs. This rate will rise as your prices rise above the standard pricing menu, as explained earlier.

We offer customers a 14-day no quibble returns policy. After that 14-day period following delivery, we treat the sale as complete and you will be paid your royalty at the end of the following calendar month.

WHAT IT WILL COST YOU

Printree Gallery works on the principle of a one-time joining fee and buying image credits at a minimum of 20 per time. To join the Gallery you pay a single once-time joining fee of £29.90 and for this, you will be able to load up and display 20 images for one year.

You can purchase additional images as and when you want and exhibit them for a year at a time but always a minimum quantity of 20 for £16.00 at a time - or 80 pence per image. You can even load up only one image if you like but you must buy the minimum 20. We would like to be able to allow you to up load your images online at any time, but we require high resolution image files and internet technology currently does not easily facilitate this.

Images will remain on the site for a period of 12 months after their purchase and can be renewed for another 12 months or allowed to expire. There is no limit to the number of images you can load up in this way. Your affiliation will continue until six months after the date at which your last image-credit expires.

SETTING UP

We have a demonstrable reputation for the quality of our prints. To maintain this level of quality we require high-resolution digital images ideally at c50mb uncompressed Tiff files capable of printing to AO.

To help search engines and customers find your images and to know more about your work, we must insist that you send the associated data referenced to each image file; this should the 'Title', 'Description', 'Genre', 'Subject Matter', 'Key Words', 'Increase Price %' and 'Selling Option - 'Unlimited', 'Limited' and What 'Limited Number' or 'Original' (see below). Without this data, we will not be able to display your images. Please also send us the name of your collection as you want it to appear on the website, and your email address.

We have set up two 'category' levels for images in the Gallery: the first being the 'genre' of the artwork; and the second the 'subject matter' of the image - as shown below:

You should present your data in a standard Excel or similar tabular format (see below­):

Your images will be reviewed prior to going live in the Printree Gallery. We are keen to promote as wide a range of art as possible. However, we reserve the right to decline any images that we feel are inappropriate. If this situation arises, we will offer you the opportunity to resubmit alternatives.

We aim to have your work uploaded within 10 working days of receipt of your images and the complete data. Your portfolio will be live with only one image if that is all you wish to display. However once live, an image cannot be replaced, only removed. Your images will be exhibited on Printree Gallery for a period of 12 months from the date of their upload on to the site.

HOW TO JOIN THE PRINTREE GALLERY

Joining the Printree Gallery is simple:

• STEP 1 - Read and satisfy yourself of the Printree Gallery Terms & Conditions – please seek legal advice if you're unsure.
• STEP 2 - Decide how many images you want to send to us to up load.
• STEP 3 - Print off a copy of the contract.
• STEP 4 - Send the signed copy of the contract and CD(s) of your images together with the tabulated data for each image. Include a biography about yourself and your work, the name of collection and email address to: The Printree Gallery, CreateOnline Limited, The Mansion, Bletchley Park, Milton Keynes, MK3 6EB, England.

Your affiliation will commence when your images are live in the Printree Gallery.

YOUR CONTRACT WITH US

The Legal Agreement between you and CreateOnline is explained in detail in the Terms & Conditions [Click here] but the key points are summarised below:

• By participating in the Printree Gallery, you grant CreateOnline a non-exclusive and royalty-free worldwide licence to use any of your artwork, titles and logos as we deem appropriate to advertise, market and promote the programme.
• You warrant that you own the Copyright and necessary permissions for any images submitted.
• You must indemnify CreateOnline from any copyright claims.
• Printree has ultimate sanction over which images are put on to the site and to remove images that may be deemed to be offensive, pornographic or defamatory.
• The 12-month period for display of your images will commence when your images are live on the Printree Gallery.
• You can purchase image credits as often as you like and valid for one year from the date of purchase.

Please note that your subscription fees are non-refundable, regardless of any early cancellation, although we will be able, if instructed by you, to remove your images from the Gallery.

THE PRINTS

Orders for prints of your work are fulfilled literally on-demand as a Giclée print – an individually produced high-resolution, high fidelity reproduction print. We use a sophisticated Epson inkjet technology providing the highest quality A0+ (44") 8-colour production and using Epson UltraChrome K3 ink with Vivid Magenta for superb colour and neutral black and white and perfectly balanced greyscale. Our giclées can be printed on any number of substrates, from canvas to watercolour paper to foamex and transparent acetates.

• Compared with lithography prints, Giclée prints are printed directly from a digital file and are far superior:
• The substrates on which the images are printed can be thicker and stronger.
• Colours are brighter and prints retain their colour vibrancy longer
• Prints are of such a high-resolution that they are virtually continuous tone, rather than tiny dots.
• Ink is sprayed onto the page, actually mixing the colour to create true shades and hues.

Substrates - Papers and Canvas

For simplicity, we currently use the following substrates on which to print your images - Satin Paper, Gloss Paper, Fine Art Paper and Canvas.

Satin Paper: The Satin Paper we use is satin 3944 - 255 g/m² high quality photo paper - Supersorb Photo Paper PE 220 - which is microporous SuperDry coated, based on a high quality opaque white double sided PE coated true photo paper with exceptional fast drying time. This high quality paper ensures vibrant photo-realistic image reproduction and has super fast drying of all common inks with a very high ink limit and exceptional wide colour gamut with soft colour gradients.

Gloss Paper: The Gloss Paper we use is glossy 3938 - 255 g/m² high quality photo paper - Supersorb Photo Paper PE 220 - which is microporous SuperDry coated, based on a high quality opaque white double sided PE coated true photo paper with exceptional fast drying time. This high quality paper ensures vibrant photo-realistic image reproduction and has super fast drying of all common inks with a very high ink limit and exceptional wide colour gamut with soft colour gradients.

Fine Art: The Fine Art Paper we use is 315 gm coated Smooth Cotton High White 100% Cotton Fourdrinier Acid Free Paper. This silky smooth surface structure is designed to retain the natural characteristics of a smooth high-white art paper whilst maintaining the necessary natural aesthetics demanded by fine art. The surface has a special matte coating, designed for high quality fine art and photographic reproduction and designed particularly for giclée technology. It is a high white ultra smooth surface archival quality paper with excellent colour gamut.

Canvas: The Canvas we use is an Instant Dry Canvas WR 350 Satin - 350 g/m², a single side satin, coated Artistic Canvas designed for high quality graphic-art applications on inkjet plotters and printers. It is especially suitable for picture presentations as full colour graphics, reproductions of art and photos, where the structure of the fabric is very pronounced and decorative. Due to the presence of natural components (ie the cotton) in the base material, the surface characteristic may vary slightly. The canvas delivers excellent colour-brilliance and is ideal for framed art giving an extra noble touch. We apply two coats of lacquer to the finished print to achieve longer life. You can choose to have your Canvas prints rolled or stretched over a soft wood frame – a 'box print/frame'.

Rolled Canvas Prints - We print the image on to the canvas and then lacquer the surface to provide better water and scratch resistance and then, when perfectly dry, roll the print and place it in a strong cardboard tube for shipping. They are shipped with a 75mm white space around the image to enable you to have it stretched yourself.

Stretched and Framed Canvas – Box Prints - Ready-to-Hang: We print the image on to the canvas and then lacquer the surface to provide better water and scratch resistance. The print is then carefully stretched over a custom-made wooden frame. The image is not wrapped around the edge of the stretcher bars; we use a sufficient margin to enable the image to be seen on the front of the frame leaving a white canvas colour around the frame edge. The Box print is delivered ready for you to hang.

For frames up to sizes A2 (420 x 594mm, 16.5' x 23.4') we use 22 mm stretcher bars; for sizes A1 (594 x 841mm/ 23.4' x 33') and above we incorporate a central crossbar to maintain structural integrity. Each frame has expansion wedges at each interior corner so that it can be gently re-stretched to keep the canvas taut.

The largest standard framed stretched canvas print we currently produce is AO (841 x 1189mm/ 33' x 46.8') but we can make them up to 1000 mm x 2000mm. Please contact us if you have any special requirements.

Print Sizes

We can print images at any print size to suit customers' particular requirements but for simplicity on the website, our standard print sizes follow the European 'A' size convention:

A5: 210 x 149mm; 8.3' x 5.9'.

A4: 297 x 210mm; 11.75' x 8.3'.

A3; 297 x 420mm; 11.75' x 16.5'.

A2: 420 x 594mm; 16.5' x 23.4'.

A1: 594 x 841mm; 23.4' x 33'.

A0: 841 x 1189mm; 33' x 46.8'.

The original images will come in a variety of shapes and sizes (for example portrait or landscape). Where the aspect ratio of the selected print does not match the selected print paper size, the print will be made to maximize the size of the print on the paper, i.e. the longest edge of the print will match the longest edge of the paper. This effect is shown on the Image Preview - a Product screen that gives an accurate portrayal of how the image will fit on different print sizes.

Because we use the latest print-on-demand digital technology, all the images on this site are available at the sizes displayed on the Image Preview screen on the Printree Gallery. Our image files are normally of sufficient size to print at high resolution at the largest standard print size (A0). In some cases an image may not be available at higher print sizes (eg if the original is small it may not be possible to maintain high quality reproduction). If this is the case, the sizes that are available will be displayed on the Image View screen.

Border

Prints can optionally be provided with a border (for example to allow for framing) of approximately 15mm around the image. This is our standard margin but we can amend this to suit customers' particular requirements.

Specific Sizes and Substrate Request

As our service truly is on-demand, we are pleased to accept enquiries for special sizes, substrates and other services such as laminating, varnishing and mounting. Please contact us to discuss your own requirements for images in sizes and finishes of your own choice outside the offered range. We will be happy to try to help.

Please note: customers are advised that the prints they order may differ to some extent from the colours of the image they see on their screens; this is because individual screen settings on customers' computer monitors can vary greatly. Customers may also perceive a slight variation in colour under artificial lighting. However, we would like to reassure customers that the print settings have been customised to accurately reproduce the original photograph.

Image - Technical Issues.

If an image is submitted horizontally but is intended for vertical display, we cannot guarantee we will reorient the image for you. Your image should be 'clean' and free from any borders, frames or background as the image will be displayed and ultimately printed exactly as is submitted.

Obviously the bigger file size the better and to print a quality image at the maximum print size of 104cm in the smallest dimension, your image should be about 4000 pixels in that dimension at a resolution of 150dpi. For images below these sizes, we may have to limit the absolute size that can be printed. As a guide and as a minimum, images should have a resolution of 150dpi and a file size of between 1 to 5MB if saved as a JPEG or 10MB to 50MB if saved as a TIFF.

Typically, we use either RGB (Red, Green and Blue) images or CMYK images (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black); in both cases, each pixel is either 3 or 4 bytes, so the example file, uncompressed, is 18.0 MB RGB, (ie 6,000,000 x 3 = 18,000,000) or 24.0 MB CMYK, which is 10.0" x 7.0" (approx).

PICTURE FRAMES

We currently offer over 80 framing options covering light and dark woods, black, silver and gold wood finishes plus black, silver and gold aluminium. Every framed picture is delivered ready to hang, and security fixings are available on request. We offer a complementary range of 25 mounts. Our mount board has acid-free core that maintains its clean crisp look. The backing paper is also acid-free, preventing damage that could be caused to your print from the use of inferior quality framing materials.

Every picture - laminated, mounted or framed to your requirements by our qualified craftsmen - is supplied ready to hang, and a choice of glass or Perspex glazing, including non-reflective options.

DESPATCH

All products are despatched within 3 working days (8 days if framed). We deliver to most countries in the world using Parcelforce for UK deliveries and FedEx for addresses outside the UK. All orders are despatched using reinforced packaging to ensure that print, frame and glass reach you in perfect condition. Deliveries can even be tracked online.

INTRODUCTION

1. These terms apply to AFFILIATION of the PRINTREE GALLERY (the 'GALLERY') operated by CREATEONLINE Limited (Company Number 04620957) whose registered office is The Mansion, Bletchley Park, Milton Keynes MK3 6EB - ('CREATEONLINE').

1. This AFFILIATE Agreement is between CREATEONLINE Ltd and you the AFFILIATE' to the GALLERY. [Further Terms & Conditions relating to Security & Privacy and the general operation of CREATEONLINE Ltd and its websites can be found here.
2. The GALLERY is available to participants aged 18 and above who can form legally binding contracts under applicable law. By subscribing to affiliation of the GALLERY the AFFILAITE is deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions.
3. The GALLERY is an online image gallery for which the AFFILIATE will pay a once off payment of £29.90 to enable the display and subsequent offer for sale as reproduction giclée prints of upto 20 digital images.
4. Additional image credits can be purchased for £16.00 for 20 images from CREATEONLOINE for display on the GALLERY for a period of 12 months.
5. Images will remain on the site for a period of 12 months after purchase and can be renewed for another 12 months or allowed to expire. There is no limit to the number of images that can be loaded up. Affiliation will continue until six months after the date at which the last image-credit expires.
6. On receipt of a customer order CREATEONLINE shall take payment, print individual images to the defined specification, frame (if required) package and deliver to the customer's defined delivery address.
7. CREATEONLINE and the AFFILIATE are independent contractors, and nothing in this Agreement will create any partnership, joint venture, agency, franchise, sales representative, or employment relationship between the Parties.
8. All prices shown above are inclusive of applicable taxes in Pounds Sterling (£). Prices, offers and services are subject to change without notice.

CREATEONLINE'S ROLE & OBLIGATIONS

1. CREATEONLINE shall from the commencement of the contract:
   • Resize and watermark (with 'Printree Gallery') AFFILIATE'S digital images for their display on the GALLERY;
   • Provide secure storage and back up of AFFILIATE'S high resolution images;
   • Provide on-line and telephone support to customers including handling queries;
   • Print images using long life inks and high quality paper and other substrates;
   • Take all reasonable attempts to prevent users from printing high-resolution prints themselves;
   • Provide secure e-commerce gateways to enable customers to make both on and off-line payments;
   • Provide Purchasers with confirmation of both their purchase and their payment by e-mail;
   • Make reasonable attempts to satisfy customer complaints, including reprinting and despatching;
   • Use reasonable endeavours to ensure that GALLERY is operational 24-hours a day seven-days a week;
   • Use reasonable endeavours to ensure that the GALLERY and the selling process and dealings with users of the Gallery conform with relevant legislation, regulations, directives, and codes of conduct wherever applicable;
   • Use reasonable endeavours to ensure that the Print Fulfilment process is completed within three working days of the order being made and if framed within eight working days.
2. CREATEONLINE undertakes not to use the Images for any purpose other than the sale of Fine Art Prints on the GALLERY and the related Print Fulfilment unless otherwise agreed in writing by the AFFILIATE.
3. CREATEONLINE reserve the right to reject any individual image if it is not deemed to be appropriate for the GALLERY. In such circumstances, AFFILIATE will be given the opportunity to submit an alternative.
4. CREATEONLINE will put enquirers directly in contact with the AFFILIATE if they are interested in buying original works of art. Any subsequent contract is made between the buyer and AFFILIATE and CREATEONLINE shall have no further involvement or responsibility or liability of any kind.
5. CREATEONLINE shall keep accurate financial records and shall provide to AFFILIATE a monthly analysis of sales.
6. CREATEONLINE shall pay AFFILIATE minimum royalties of 35 per cent of the Print sale (excl. Framing, VAT, Postage & Packing). For every £1.00 increase above the minimum prices (excluding VAT, postage and packing) shown in the table below that the AFFILIATE decides to set the prices of prints, the AFFILIATE will receive an additional £0.50 royalty on top of the minimum 35 per cent royalty.

2li>CREATEONLINE shall pay any royalties due to AFFILIATE within 28 days of receipt of payment for prints by customers.
1. CREATEONLINE shall offer substrates and print sizes as shown on this site but other sizes may be offered to Purchasers on request including, subject to AFFILIATE's data, original print size. Actual print sizes may vary slightly from those stated above.
2. The Prices for the Prints to be provided by CREATEONLINE shall be defined by the AFFILIATE but not lower than our Standard Prices without prior written agreement. These prices below include VAT (at the UK prevailing rate) but exclude postage and packing and will be amended from time to time as necessary.
3. CREATEONLINE shall, within 14 days of receipt of confirmation of the termination of this Agreement deliver up to AFFILIATE all of AFFILIATE's images in its possession, custody or control and shall immediately cease all further use of such materials.

AFFILIATE'S ROLE & OBLIGATIONS

1. AFFILIATE agrees to supply Images to CREATEONLINE for sale on the GALLERY on a non-exclusive basis for the term of this Agreement in consideration for payments made by CREATEONLINE to AFFILIATE under this Agreement.
2. AFFILIATE shall provide to CREATEONLINE the high resolution Images (in JPEG and/or TIFF format), to be resized, watermarked and uploaded onto the Gallery. AFFILIATE shall provide accompanying image data ie 'Image File Name', 'Image Title', 'Image Description', 'Image Genre', 'Image Subject Matter', 'Image Key Words' for each image, for display with the images.
3. AFFILIATE grants to CREATEONLINE the right to use Images and profile information to promote the Images and the GALLERY without limitation.
4. AFFILIATE is responsible for all artwork and profile information submitted and warrants that it has full legal title to and is the copyright owner and further warrants that such artwork does not infringe the copyright or intellectual property rights of any third parties.
5. AFFILIATE shall use its best endeavours to indemnify CREATEONLINE against any and all claims, demands, proceedings, losses, liabilities, damages (including reasonable costs), charges and expenses howsoever arising out of or in connection with any claim or action made against CREATEONLINE in respect of any of the Images infringing any third party copyright.

GENERAL

1. Each of the parties acknowledges that, whether by virtue of and in the course of this Agreement or otherwise, it shall receive or otherwise become aware of information relating to the other party, its clients, customers, businesses, business plans or affairs, which information is proprietary and confidential to the other party.
2. Except in respect of injury to or death of any person, or for fraud (for which no limit applies) the maximum aggregate liability of AFFILIATE under this Agreement whether in contract or tort including negligence shall not exceed 100% of the Commission payable to AFFILIATE by CREATEONLINE under this Agreement.
3. Notwithstanding anything else contained in this Agreement, neither party shall be liable to the other for loss of income, loss of profits, loss of goodwill, loss of operation time, loss of data, loss of any anticipated savings, loss of contracts, loss of any benefit or for any indirect or consequential loss or damage whether arising from negligence, breach of contract or howsoever arising even if one party had been advised by the other or knew or should have known of the probability of such losses or damages or should reasonably have foreseen the same.
4. CREATEONLINE is not responsible for and to the fullest extent permitted by the law excludes all liability for any losses or damages arising from or in connection with AFFILIATE's individual artwork or profile information as displayed. CREATEONLINE shall not be liable for any loss of revenue, profits, data, indirect, special, or consequential damages arising in connection with this agreement even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages or if such damages were reasonably foreseen at the date of this agreement.
5. If any term, clause or provision of this Agreement shall be deemed invalid or unenforceable for any reason, the remainder of this Agreement shall remain valid and enforceable in accordance with its terms.
6. This Agreement shall commence on the Effective Date and continue, subject to these terms, for a period of 12 months from the uploading of the AFFILIATE's first image to the site. The subscription term is one year from the point the AFFILIATE's first image is made live on the website. Subscription fees are non-refundable, regardless of early cancellation.
7. The parties hereby agree that this Agreement shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with English Law, and hereby submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts for all purposes connected with this Agreement.
